How it WorksAdvice on buying used partsRequest using debit or credit cardPart request without debit card

How the system works.

The basics

You provide us with the details of the bike, the parts you need and phone numbers where you can be contacted (or where messages can be left for you). We then send this information to over 200 motorcycle breakers throughout the UK (a few are also based in the Irish Republic). The breakers then ring you back with the price and availability of the parts you need. There is no commission to us on any sale, so you deal with the breakers directly as if you had contacted them in the normal way.

Costs - 3 different ways to send us your request:

Option 1) Credit/debit card - any country

Placing a request on the internet costs £3.76 sterling (or equivalent in other currencies) payable by credit / debit card when you send us your completed parts request form. All transactions are processed through Worldpay's secure server. In addition, you are entitled to one free retry per enquiry should you need the request repeating.

Option 2) Online without credit card - UK only

If you do not have a credit card you can still send a request on-line at anytime by using our telephone payment system (your phone must be a UK number) - either click on the link below or select Option 2 on our Homepage.

After completing the parts request form you will be presented with the telephone number to dial in order to make your payment – ALL UNPAID REQUESTS WILL BE DELETED.

Simply stay on the call for three minutes & the payment will appear on your telephone bill. The call is charged at £1.50 per minute and will last for three minutes. At the end of 3 minutes the call will automatically disconnect and we will process your request.

Please note: if you hang up before the 3 minutes is up then your request will not be sent to the breakers, so be sure to stay on the call until you are automatically disconnected.

Option 3) Call us direct - UK and Eire

You can speak to us directly by calling 09060 300 333 (UK). This call is charged at £1.50 per minute and usually costs around a couple of quid (always charged to the phone you dial from). Dialling from the Republic of Ireland ring 1580 880 572, calls charged at 2.40 Euro per minute.

Opening times

You can place a request on the internet using the Parts Request Form at any time (see options 1 and 2 above).

However if you prefer to speak to us directly you can ring 09060 300 333. Lines are open from 9am - 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 5pm on Saturday. We are closed on Sundays, although we frequently open on UK bank holidays.

When can I expect to hear from the breakers?

Monday to Friday - we send two faxes to the breakers every day during the week. If you place a request before 11.30am then you usually receive calls between 12pm and 3pm on the same day. If you contact us before 3.30pm the calls will usually be between 4pm and 6pm, although occasionally you may still receive calls the following day. If you place your request after 3.30pm then you should receive calls the following day, usually between 12pm and 3pm.

Saturday - We send one fax on Saturday. If you ring before 1.30pm then you will normally get sorted the same day, with breakers calling between 2pm and 6pm. If you ring after 1.30pm then breakers are likely to call between 12pm and 3pm the following Monday (or Tuesday if it is a bank holiday weekend). We do not send a fax on Sunday because most breakers are closed.

Reasons for not getting the parts you need.

The most common reason for not getting the parts you need is that the breakers do not currently have the part(s) in stock. Although there are over 200 breakers contacted some parts are particularly rare and very difficult to locate. This is especially true of plastic panels which need to be in the correct colours, or parts that seem to fail frequently - e.g. XV750 starter motors or an early GPZ500 S flywheel / rotor. Similarly, other parts like GSF1200 Bandit clocks are in high demand by people building specials. It is worth trying again because 100's of bikes are broken every day so the breakers' stock is constantly changing.

If you are struggling to find the parts you need it may be worth considering changing your request slightly in order to make parts easier to find. For example, if you require fairing panels and you originally specified an exact colour, it might be worth considering ordering panels in a different colour scheme which can then be resprayed.

Similarly, like suppliers of new spares, breakers will often be reluctant to split large items into their individual components. For example, they may not be willing to split a set of fork legs in order to supply just the chrome stanchions. If you are struggling for parts that might only be sold by breakers as part of a larger item then it might be worth trying to find the larger item - e.g. you may be able to locate a complete headlight if you didn't get any calls for a headlight rim.

Another common reason for not getting sorted is that you were not contactable when the breakers were trying to ring you. Breakers tend to be quite busy and rarely keep trying to get hold of you if you are not answering the phone.

Mobile phones

Some breakers are reluctant to ring mobile phones, especially if the part is quite small - for example, a brake lever or indicator. Conversely, if you are ordering expensive items (e.g. bodykit / engine) many breakers will be wary of contacting mobile phone numbers due to the potential risk of credit card fraud. In order to maximise your chances of getting sorted try to leave more than one contact number (preferably one being a land line) so that breakers have an alternative if they can't get hold of you on your preferred number.
